ARTWORK IS MISSING FROM MY EXHIBITION AT PURDUE!
Why?
Because last summer Indiana passed “higher education reform” law SB202 in the name of so-called “intellectual diversity,” which restricts what can be said and done at academic institutions. It’s a right wing attempt to choke progressive voices with the threat of tenured professors being fired if they violate the new rules on “neutrality.” The wording of the law is intentionally vague in order to bully and intimidate. As a result, there are no images of Trump, Kamala, or Gaza protests in my exhibition. Even my RBG “Vote Blue” poster was not allowed.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful to Purdue for a wonderful experience there and kudos to them for inviting me in the face of this threatening legislation, but what the state of Indiana is doing is chilling. If anyone reading this needed more reason to vote this year, here it is. A MAGA win next Tuesday would ensure more of this type of censorship and a greater stranglehold on education in the US.
PLEASE VOTE!
