binos, 'nocs, and 'culars: three abbreviations for "binoculars" that allow you to reconstruct the original word

February 24th, 2025: I used binoculars while wearing my glasses for YEARS before figuring this out! And I say "used them for years" in the "used them very occasionally over the course of many years" sense, not in the "used them constantly for years straight" sense, though that one DOES make a better story, so... maybe I DO mean it in that sense after all??
