Happy 2023, Drupal community! We have many exciting things in the works for the new year. We’re kicking off 2023 by developing an Open Web Manifesto, and we need your input. We are currently working to build our 3-year strategic plan, starting with this manifesto – and the Drupal community’s input is vital.

Share your input

The Drupal Association believes that Drupal is a digital public good and a leader in Open Web principles. An open web is:

  • an engine of economic empowerment
  • a promoter of free expression
  • a space for digital inclusion

We want your thoughts on what the “open web” means and how you think Drupal should promote these ideas in the future.

Yglesias out with another idea today:




I guess: With policy rate at 5%;  they sell a 1 year 10 face value with a coupon of 95 then people would pay 100 and get redeemed for 10... they would make the 5%... iow they would pay 100, get coupon for 95 then get back 10 at redemption in 1 year...  pay 100 and get back 105 within a year...

USD savers would have their USD savings in the Treasury General Account at the Fed instead of in Treasury Securities accounts at the Fed…  TGA account would probably maintain a VERY high balance…

Goddam it all, anyway. This one hurts. The music world has lost one of its greatest vocalists. That is not a typo. Jeff Beck could make a guitar speak, in every sense of the word. He rarely stepped up to the mic during the course of his 60+ year career, but whenever he set his fingers to a fret board, he told you a story; sometimes joyous and life-affirming, sometimes sad and melancholy…but it never meandered into masturbatory self-indulgence. Every note held import, serving a distinct narrative that had a beginning, a middle, and an end. Like all great artists, he was loathe to dawdle too long in a comfort zone; he never stopped exploring, pushing the boundaries of his instrument ever-further with each performance (whether on stage or in the studio). While he was generally relegated to the “rock” section, he could slide effortlessly from blues, boogie, and metal to funk, R & B, soul, jazz and fusion (more often than not, all within the same number).

Drupal WordmarkDrupal 10 is here!

Thanks to collaboration from more than 2,000 contributors and over 600 organizations across the world, Drupal 10 was released on December 15. 

The latest version of Drupal has upgrades to both the front-end and back-end design, with the Olivero front-end theme and the Olivero admin theme now default. The WYSIWYG editor has been updated to CKEditor 5, with significant improvements to in-place editing controls and great pluggability.

Huffington Post reports on the latest House atrocity: House Republicans are set to vote on a pair of abortion bills this week, just a few months after their disappointing performance in the 2022 midterm elections that even some top Republicans like former President Donald Trump attributed to extreme abortion policies. […] The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act would require physicians to provide life-sustaining care to infants born after an attempted abortion and threatens doctors with criminal penalties if they don’t comply. Rep. Ann Wagner (R-Mo.) reintroduced the legislation earlier this week, along with original Republican co-sponsors Reps. Steve Scalise (La.) and Kat Cammack (Fla.). “All children should have the right to receive life saving care, especially those who survive an abortion,” Wagner said in a Monday statement. “The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act will provide common sense protections for innocent children and their mothers and will ensure all babies receive the essential care they need at an incredibly vulnerable moment.
